Founded in 1956 by K.J. “Smokey” Miller, Safety Boss has grown from a one-truck fire company into a fleet of safety, loss prevention, and emergency response equipment operated and managed by the industry’s leading team of safety professionals.
Currently, we are headed by Mike Miller, son of the company’s founder. Taking over the family business in 1979, he created a new direction for the company based on his vision. Originally rooted deep in Alberta’s oil patch, Mike expanded the company internationally in the early 1980s by forging our world-renowned well control reputation. To date, we have successfully controlled more than 800 emergency events, including several of the largest blowouts and firefighting projects in the world.
Moving forward we continue to diversify by providing comprehensive prevention, detection and response safety services to the Oil and Gas, Construction, Forestry, Mining and Processing industries worldwide. Striving to improve ourselves and the equipment we offer is how we will accomplish our goal of operational excellence for our partners in the industry.
