This month we have a picture of a well control recovery operation in Northern Alberta.

The mast has collapsed and now the whole rig and substructure has to be untangled and completely removed in order to gain access to the well head. This is a very hot job and dealing with the tremendous heat while working up close is difficult.

The inset photos shows  the blowout crew up close, behind hand-held heat shields, planning and assessing the complicated debris removal process.
