The primary responsibilities of this position include coordinating, facilitating and ensuring requests from internal and external sources for mobilization of equipment and personnel are completed in a timely fashion.   As a key member of the Management team, the Dispatcher will report to the HSE Manager and assume a strategic role in the overall management of SBI Logistic Department.

 Responsibilities

  • Maintain professionalism and proper phone etiquette at all times when communicating with customers and employees.
  • Receive calls 24 hours / day while on shift. Work shift is rotational.
  • Determine priorities of response to requests for service. Provide adequate assistance and communication to our personnel for all ongoing jobs. Extreme organization skills are a must.
  • Identify location of resources (personnel and equipment) and coordinate the mobilization of resources.
  • Maintains accurate, up to date records of all job related calls such as; complete company name, complete customer reps name, customer representative contact numbers, LSD, rig name, posted rig signs, directions, type of job, equipment required up-sell additional equipment when applicable, water assist when applicable, hot oilers contact name and number when applicable.
  • Provide safety support and suggestions to client representative when applicable.
  • Remain up to date on all operational best practices, local, provincial and federal law regarding legal and regulatory requirements. Share Best Practice knowledge across stations to maintain consistency of work practices. Ensure compliance with applicable provincial and federal legislation.
  • Communication with applicable Government Departments as required.

 Qualifications and Requirements

  • Strong computer skills including the ability to use Spira Software, Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • General Knowledge of Safety Boss Field operations is an asset.
  • 5 years’ experience in an upstream oil and gas or industrial setting is an asset.
  • Emergency Dispatch or similar training is an asset.
  • Mapping reading skills are essential.
  • The successful candidate will be required to use written and oral communication skill; read and interpret complex data, information and documents; analyze and solve problems; observe and interpret people and situations; use math and mathematical reasoning; perform highly detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks with constant interruptions; and interact with local management, consultants, vendors, employees and the public.
